Rumor is that Ashcroft's boys got Krugman. W. took a lot of heat the last couple of days, but *only* about the details Krugman mentioned. The even gorier details left out of the nytimes piece never made it into the press conference or mainstream media publications. That was when W. decided that Krugman is an "enemy combatant", and Ashcroft nabbed him. The New York Times will have to make up a cover story for Krugman's disappearance, as the arrest will be kept secret. Apparently, other arrests will follow.
