"What kind of peace do I mean? What kind of peace do we seek? Not a Pax Americana enforced on the world by American weapons of war. Not the peace of the grave or the security of the slave. I am talking about genuine peace, the kind of peace that makes life on earth worth living, the kind that enables men and nations to grow and to hope and to build a better life for their children - not merely peace for Americans but peace for all men and women - not merely peace in our time but peace for all time." -- JFK

Krugman piles on Bush about North Korea:

"What was it Teddy Roosevelt said? Talk trash but carry a small stick?"

Bush is a freaking incompetent dildo.

[9:50:07 AM]
"Bush [Sr.] has to seriously consider the propriety of sitting on the board of a group that is impacted by his son's decisions."

Now there's a joke and a half. Poppy surely considers the propriety of every corrupt deal he's in on. Like when he handed the gold mining industry a gazillion dollar subsidy on his last day in office, and took a big-time payola directorship on his first day *out* of office.

Propriety only matters if you have public accountability -- a democracy thing. The Bush gang got away with drug running, selling arms to terrorists, illegal wars, using the US military to take down dirty business partners who double-crossed them (Noriega, Saddam, etc.). With Tom Daschle and the media in their pocket, there's no need to worry about accountability.

"George Bush's father does profit when the Carlyle Group profits, but to make the leap that the president would base decisions on that is to say that the president is corrupt."

That's supposed to be a hard leap to make? It's true... we *know* W. is corrupt, from his various business deals. But that doesn't mean he is necessarily making decisions in order to enrich his father. It's just that he *is* making decisions to enrich his father.

Um. When Poppy croaks off, and W.'s estate tax repeal is in place, who gets the money? People should stop saying W. is a moron. The guy's knows the easy way to put a few hundred million bucks in his offshore account, and that's more than most of us will ever do.

Dumbya says "the Asians are on our side". Of course. No sane person wants North Korean kooks building nukes. But neither does any sane person want f*cking moron Bush bozos *provoking* the North Korean kooks.

Like all idiot bullies, Bush and Bozos are cowards of the first degree. Sure, they'll talk tough and beat up a weakling like Iraq, but when they run up against a country that's too tough for them, they'll run and hide behind former AOL board-member Colin Powell's skirts.

Poor Powell has to say stupid things like "it's a diplomatic crisis", and then refuse to do any diplomacy with the North Koreans. That's smarter than your average bear, don't you think?

How about that? A country where people starve to death is too tough for Rummy and DICK.
