No blog for Wednesday - the day was too, too hectic.

News -- San Diego Supercomputer simulation of the Orion Nebula: http://vis.sdsc.edu/research/orion.html

Comment - This little film is really remarkable. Takes you on a spaceflight through the Orion Nebula, where stars (and maybe planets) are being born all the time.

You may need a broadband Internet connection to view it.

News - Hilarious story about James, younger brother of Jesus, complaining to a therapist about his older brother "lording it over him: http://makeashorterlink.com/?K55421B32

Comment - James: Well, Mom is a very pious woman. She's a saint, really. And whenever we'd come home she'd ask us, "What good things did you do today?" And I'd always say something like, "I brought extra wood to Jebediah" and Jesus would say, "I healed a leper" or "I cured a blind man."
Puh-lease. Talk about your show-offs! Mom was too kind to actually say "Why don't you heal lepers like Jesus?" But I could tell that's what she was thinking.

News - Gadget prices drop to lure bargain hunters: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A7604-2002Oct23.html

Comment - The article leads with the new $99 PDA from Palm. Later it mentions that sales of DVDs are still very strong as DVDs replace VCRs. But what do you do when every home has a DVD player? There's not much of an upgrade path.
