ASHINGTON - Rule No. 1: So let's say, old sport, that one summer night in a hotel ballroom you gather your favorite fat cats and they all sit on their checkbooks.
For some inexplicable reason, no one wants you to run again. But that is not an option. On this grim night, it becomes wrenchingly clear that since you are not popular, you must become a populist. Without the support of Big Money, you'll have to rely on the support of Big Labor and Big Media.
Rule No. 2: In order to help the little people, you have to know the right people...
