Gore's Guide To Populism QUOTE OF THE DAY "If I were two-faced, would I wear this one?" - - Abraham Lincoln Rhino here: Last week Al Gore wrote an op-ed piece for the N.Y. Times. http://www.nytimes.com/2002/08/04/opinion/04GORE.html On the surface, he seemed to say a lot of good things, much like his presidential campaign, but something was missing. Is this the beginning of a new 2 year effort to run for president? He seems like a nice enough guy and yet so many people even in his own party can't hack him. I know it's the weekend and I know Al Gore is never funny so I'm relying on Maureen Dowd to make some sense and some humor out of the situation. Her NY Times column about Gore is below. As far as the next presidential election goes, I can only conjure the words of Jim Hightower who said, "If God wanted us to vote, he would have given us candidates."
