Yet More on Hosting: Thanks Adam!

Well the recommendations on hosting companies continue to arrive.  I got a few good tips from Adam.  Since I'm in a hardcore, heads down, almost have code working but not quite phase, here's the raw info.:

acemcburney: http://johncompanies.com/collocation/ this is definatly the best collocation deal i've ever seen $65 a month for 40 gig transfer and 2 gigs disk space on the same type of setup that tommy has, they also have unlimited tech support and from what i've heard they will do anything from help you fix some error to help you install any server software you want to run
fuzzygroup: Cool.
fuzzygroup: Do you use them ?
acemcburney: i think you may have blogged that once before but its worth mentioning again]
fuzzygroup: Or do you trust the recommender ?
acemcburney: i trust the recommendations, holdon, there was a whole discussion on kuro5hin about it lemme see if i can find it
fuzzygroup: Cool.
acemcburney: i've been meaning to use them but at this point i only host a few sites so $10 a month threw phpwebhosting per site is less than $65
fuzzygroup: Yup.
fuzzygroup: How do you like www.phpwebhosting.com ?
acemcburney: phpwebhosting is ok, its quick to set up and works
fuzzygroup: Cool.
acemcburney: i know when i hit the magic 7 sites hosted or maybe  a little before i'll switch over to johncompany
fuzzygroup: Cool.  Well that's a statement of faith.

These People Suck: Traffic Magnet -- 100% Proof Positive Spammers

Given that I know way too much about spam, how it's generated and detection algorithms, I generally don't get pissed when I get spammed.  Now I am.  These people, www.trafficmagnet.com, just sent HTML spam to my pager.  I don't ever give my pager out -- it's for either client emergencies or for automatic notification of downed servers (I have background monitoring routines looking for the presence of Apache, MySQL, SMTP, etc).  So, since I never give it out, they either got it from one place where it's linked in from or my automatically generating the address programmatically.

Sigh.  These people suck green, moldy, decaying rocks.  So strongly not recommended it's not even funny.
