Today's jaw dropper
 The Ski Boy, Henry II, and I went to Johnson's Tire Service. Today was the day Hank was going to get his new studded winter shoes. I had my eye on the Nokian Hakkapeliitta's. They are simply the absolute best winter tire (tyre) in the world. We expected to pay around $600 including mounting.
Henry is a 2003 Turbo S Beetle. Interestingly enough, Hank has the coolest looking mag wheels. There's a reason for that cool look. The tires are 17 inches instead of the standard 16 inches.
Guess what? The Nokian 16 inch tires are $600 for all four. The 17 inch tires are - you better sit down - $1,099 for all four. GAG...
And double guess what? It appears as if only Nokian makes a 17 inch winter tire. ARGH....
I'll call the dealer tomorrow to see if there's anything we can do to work around the issue. If not, Crapbox will be resurrected for winter duty.
