A gorgeous Breakup weekend. Note use of the term breakup instead of Spring. We really don't have Spring until mid May - and then it's actually more like summer than Spring. We don't get early flowers, leaves, etc. like everyone else. We just get streams of melting snow, surfacing dog doo, and dust.
However, all that being said, it was still a very pretty weekend. It hit 50 today and as I type at 9:15 PM, it is still light outside and folks are out running, bicycling, etc. The biking is a little dicey - there's still some snow on the bike trails. But that doesn't seem to be hindering too many people.
This is a far cry from the conditions this time last year. Check out this post from April 11, 2004. My God - all the snow!!!!
The reason I was poking around in last year's post is that it's almost time for the Westchester Lagoon Ice Classic.
I will try to get out tomorrow to take the pictures. I'd better get on the stick. The ice could definitely go out early this year!
