A New Journal in the Making!!! I haven't blogged in the past few days because my blogging time has been usurped by journal construction. As regular Slat Rat Chronicle readers are aware, I lost my journal back in July. Losing the journal was a double blow: I lost my journal. As a good friend of mine who is a psychiatrist commented, "People become sucidal over that one." Well, I didn't become suicidal, but I was massively bummed. Really really bummed. It was the best journal I'd ever made and I only had it for a few months, and then kablooie, it was gone. sob... I'd have to make a new journal. I just can't conjur these things up on demand. I have to work myself into the right frame of mind - and I'd just shot my wad two months earlier. I was not yet ready to come up with a new design. I didn't want to make another journal so soon. wah... So, it took me about a month before I could even get into the right frame of mind. And then my big work project swamped everything. Finally, now, I've got the time and the inclination. And I think I have a pretty good design idea for this one. I completed the cover today and it looks kind of spiffy. Tomorrow, I'll start stitching the signatures and the covers. That is a time consuming and painful process - lots of needle holes in the ol' slat rat fingers by the time I'm done. I hope to finish up by mid week - I'm very excited!!!! 9:03:51 PM    comment []
