As I type, the Ski Boy and I are in Fort Meyers, Florida. We drove down today from Sarasota - home of the Ski Boy parents. We're having the most marvelous time! It's been ages since I've had an actual real life vacation. I've been walking around with a big ol' grin on my face since we arrived on Saturday.
I haven't blogged because of internet connectivity issues and - well - I've just been in such a vacation frame of mind that I haven't really haven't had the oomph to fire up the ol' laptop. However, here at the Susie Manse (The Suze is Peter's sister) in Fort Meyers, she has a high speed wireless network. So life is very good. There is nothing better than sitting on the Lanai overlooking the golf course, drinking beer and catching up on Internet goings on.
Tomorrow, we're headed out to Captiva and Sanibel Islands. I have a feeling geocaching may be in our future. Peter and I have already done quite a bit of caching since we've arrived - lots of really great beach and mangrove parks. Very very spiffy - totally tropical. A very nice change from the sub-arctic.
I'm usually a major photo hound during these sorts of trips - but due to the total lack of oomph, not very many pictures have actually been snapped. But, here are a few:
Our latest lawn ornament!
This very handsome Great Egret was on Muby and Chuck's (Peter's parents) lawn this morning.

Here I am at the Sightsee From Here geocache located at the Sarasota Visitors Center.
I loved this cache, it was a simple mailbox with geocaching.com sticker on it. I thought it was very funny.
