As I type, Peter and I are between flights at the Detroit airport. This has definitely been a long travel day - we left the house eleven hours ago and we still have at least five more hours to go.

Doing the Big Diagonal from Alaska to Florida is the equivalent of a major international jaunt!!!!

BTW - the wireless network here at the Detroit Airport is excellent - very very fast and very reliable - not at all flakey.

As I type, the SkiBoy and I are at the Anchorage Airport awaiting a flight. We're off to hurricane country- Sarasota - to visit Peter's parents.

I'm very excited. This is my first vacation in quite some time.

Yipee!!!!!!!!!!

Monday as were headed down from our Geocaching/Clemmie Ash Scattering expedition, we were treated to an absolutely stunning vista. The interplay of the sunset with the clouds, the city, the mountains, the volcanos, etc. was a total jaw dropper.

The perfect capper to a very special trip.

The view to the Northwest. Note in the "foreground" the sea of gold.

Downtown Anchorage.

Mt. Illiamna (an active volcano).

And by popular request, here's the white jeep on the lichen covered cliffs at Clemmie's cache!
