Stuart Hall's memorial service was held Wednesday afternoon. I don't normally rank funerals and memorial services - i.e. so and so's funeral was the best ever. But, Stuart's memorial service was absolutely wonderful - he would have been so very proud. The setting, the service, the speakers, the crowd, etc. all combined for a very special event.

The service was held at St. Mary's Episcopal Church - their sanctuary is open and airy with stunning mountain views. The Rev. Connie Jones was the officiant - she was warm, funny, and serious - just what Stuart would have wanted. There were seven speakers and they ran the gamut from US Senator Murkowski and Mayor Begich, to the president of the Alaska Philatelic Club. Just the sort of mix that described Stuart to a "t". By the time the speakers had finished, we all knew how much we had really lost. We'll miss Stuart so very much.

Stuart and Pal - this was a display at the service.
