It's that time of year - numerous recaps of the preceeding year's top news stories. And for the first time, I'm involved in a top ten story; the infamous "Bridges to Nowhere". The Knik Arm Crossing is one of those bridges and although it may be "to nowhere", it starts somewhere and that somewhere is literally my backyard. Government Hill is ground zero for the bridge's Anchorage approach and we've been totally immersed in the project for the past twelve months. It's been an epic battle with wrenching momentum swings and it's still raging. I have to say that it's been quite the learning experience, but the stakes are so high - literally our homes - that there's not much room for beginner mistakes.
I've purposefully not blogged our experiences - blogs are way too exposed for this sort of thing. But, I'm thinking about writing a book after this is all said and done.
Here's KTUU's recap of the story.

Starting Christmas Night, we've been doing the Chanukkah thing - lighting the Menorah every night. One of my favorite holiday traditions.
And Peter has been rocking down over the past few days to My Menorah. It's very funny!

Very nifty, well done year end Zeitgeist by Google. Great design. The World Affairs and Phenomena tabs are particularly good - the graphs are very spiffy.
