A perfect geocaching day: 81 degrees and very sunny here in Winfield. Pretty toasty for November!
I spent most of my afternoon tramping around in the woods hunting for cleverly hidden geocaches. I had designs on nailing 20 caches in one day. But it's hard to nail 20 caches when you keep getting skunked. Of the first five I tried, I only found two. Oh well - that just leaves more for tomorrow!!!!
Kansas geocaching humor. This little guy was strategically positioned under one of the caches. Fortunately I know that there are no snakes in Kansas with bright green patches. So, I didn't have a heart attack.

My grandfather took me fishing on an earlier version of this bridge over Timber Creek in Island Park back in 1964. I remember it very well - he made a bamboo fishing pole for me in his shop and then we attached a red bobber and a hook on to the line. I caught at least 5 fish that day and we took them home in a bucket. I was very proud. Unfortunately, my guess is that the fish died in that bucket.
