Last night (or early this morning depending upon your frame of reference), the Ski Boy was scheduled at 2:00 AM to wing his way south to Florida. Most flights leaving from Alaska to the Lower 48 go through Seattle - our very own Alaska Portal. As any of you who watched last night's Monday Night Football game know, the weather in Seattle is tres ugly. And nothing like hideous weather at the Alaska Portal to totally mess with travel. And all of this while traveling on the red eye. Ugh...
Here are two messages that Peter sent from his Blackberry:
Not Off to a Good Start
Well the snow in seattle has created mayhem--all flights are way late. My flight would not leave until 5 a.m. Which would leave me stuck in Seattle until midnight tomorrow. Got switched to an earlier flight--with a middle seat, but chance of making connection in Seattle. Oh what fun--as I wait here for a 3 a.m. Departure.
Well Made It To Seattle
Despite 3 screaming babies and two defensive tackles around me, slept for an hour or so. Leave here in about 45 minutes--flight is a bit late so the ski boy luggage should make the flight.
