Shop-Rite on Oak Tree Road screwed us! I went to pick up the Harry Potter DVD with a 24-pack of Coca-Cola, and they didn’t have the DVD. When I asked for a rain check, they said that it wouldn’t matter because they wouldn’t honor it.
Huh?

I was surprised to find on Slashdot that like OmniWeb, IE opens links behinds windows with a shift-click. Playing with OmniWeb, I found that a command-click also does the same as the right-click contextual menu.

Bloomsday coming up in about two weeks. I wonder what’s going to happen in New York? It lands on a Sunday. The Bowery Poetry Club usually does a marathon reading, but I don’t see it listed.

Huh. I missed this completely:
R. A. Lafferty died 20 March 2002 at the age of 87. He was the author of many science fiction novels and shorter works, and won the Hugo for his short story "Eurema's Dam." He also had several other Hugo and Nebula nominations. In 1990, Lafferty received a World Fantasy Lifetime Achievement Award. [by way of the rec.arts.sf.written FAQ] One of my favorite writers, one with a whimsical bent. Often as I am reading his works I think of an open-faced Irish teller of tales holding forth. Yet another author I wish I could have met while alive.
