What an interesting place New Jersey is. It was the New Jersey chapter of the Knights of Columbus that sponsored the “under God” phrase into the pledge, and it was this Teaneck, NJ native that has so recently put that phrase into question. As an atheist, he plans to ferret out all insidious uses of religion in daily life. "Why should I be made to feel like an outsider?" [by way of New York Times] What is this guy, a teenager? As a practicing Catholic, I feel like an outsider all the time. Does this mean I appeal to the courts to make me feel better? Plus, why would he have his daughter feel like an outsider? People like this are too inflexible to deal with the realities of parenting, which is why he probably only gets to do it once in a while.
