Anonymous Fechtbuch: Manuscript I.33, a late medieval codex on sword-and-bucklerplay. Dated alternatively at 1295 or early 1300’s.
Note that medieval swordplay did not consist of hacking and slashing—the role of thrusting is underemphasized in modern perceptions of this period.
