RBC fails to fix computer problem as planned
Toronto Star, Canada - Tens of thousands of Canadians whose pay day was today were affected by a processing delay at Royal Bank of Canada, which is still working to catch up on a backlog created earlier this week by a computer software glitch.

Royal Bank's own customers weren't the only ones affected. Canada's largest bank said there were also delays in payrolls it processes for deposit in accounts at other financial institutions.

"It's been very frustrating for our customers and inconvenient and we're really very sorry for any inconvenience that it has caused," said Gay Mitchell, executive vice-president for RBC Financial Group, the bank's umbrella corporate name.

Buy yourself One Vote in the Canadian Federal Election on EBay.

Figure it out, if everyone in America wants one, there is not enough to go around.

UPDATE: Ebay pulled the auction.  It was just some guy in Toronto selling his vote.

“Sometimes they used electrical prods attached to sensitive areas of the bodies,” Mr. Mahjoub told the Federal Court.

At other times, they hanged him from the ceiling by his hands or legs or filled his cell with water so he couldn't sit or sleep, he said.

On occasions, authorities threatened to assault or rape his mother or other female family members if he did not co-operate.

More Abu Ghraib prison stories?  Nope.  First hand account of life in an Egyptian Prision.  Where is the "arab street" outrage now?

Microsoft Edges Into ITunes' Turf
Wired News - Microsoft released a test version of its new Windows Media Player 10 on Wednesday, giving a sneak peek at upcoming features including, most significantly, the ability to play music from several digital music subscription services like Napster and to share with a slew of portable music devices.

Microsoft touted the new player's sleek and simple user interface and easy access to several digital music and video services. It also highlighted the new "auto sync" feature that will transfer content like music, videos and photos to portable devices. The new player also will likely be closely linked to Microsoft's new online music store, which will debut later this year.
