Microsoft Offers Free Licenses for Backup Servers windows.about.com - According to this Reuters story, Microsoft will allow new licensing to Software Assurance customers to accomodate "cold servers." These are servers that are configured but kept out of production in case of a disaster.  It will be interesting to see how this will play out technically, and what hoops a user will have to jump through in the case of actually using a server licensed this way. 10:03:30 PM
