 Monday, May 13, 2002Time: "We'd love record labels to just go away," [Matt Goyer] says. "They're great for a Britney Spears, but I don't see them providing a lot of benefits for smaller acts." A short Time article on FairTunes.com, an alternative, honor-based means for fans to pay musicians. There's some mention of a deal with WinAmp, but they don't go into any detail.
