Mixed Day For Apple Scott Rosenberg: "Apple found the DMCA to be a pliable tool, easily adaptable for its own ends that have nothing to do with protecting intellectual property." [Scripting News]
It's been a mixed day for Apple. Bullying ISVs with that awful DMCA law, using it to make their customers buy hardware they don't need.
But then they announced they are going to Open Source their implementation of Rendezvous (zeroconf). Very cool. They're becoming more and more like IBM every day (and I mean that in a good way). They just need to be more consistent.
Often times it's simply a matter of learning to reign in the legal staff. Once everybody's on the same page, consistency returns.
