QOTD

Roy Blount Jr.. "The last time somebody said, 'I find I can write much better with a word processor.', I replied, 'They used to say the same thing about drugs.'" [Quotes of the Day]

I never said either of these, but it is interesting to consider the effects of word processors--or blogs, for that matter--on the quality of writing. I taught myself to compose at the typewriter during my first year at college; I could already type pretty well, but was still handwriting my papers. That came to an end pretty quickly when the quantity of work required overwhelmed my ability to read what I had written. So writing at the keyboard is now natural, even necessary.
