Andy Oram, an editor at O'Reilly, has a few thoughts on the future of documentation,
including the value of community efforts such as mailing lists, wikis,
discussion boards, newsgroups, and such. I must say that I've
found discussion forums to be quite valuable, especially the ones on
Apple's support site. I have found answers readily, or at least
pointers to answers, that I would never have found in more traditional
documentation. Andy also argues persuasively that big dead-tree books
have limited utility in a world of rapid change.
