It's one thing to know how your software behaves, quite another to provide useful information to users. Developers love to throw little factoids at technical writers without explaining all the consequences, or why or how the user should make one or another decision. I find it's the hardest thing to write about, especially in the concise language that good help requires. . . why would the user want to do x?

Gordon hits it exactly:

Factually unhelpful. Throwing facts at your readers won't help them make the right choices. [Usable Help]
