"Gerald K. Hege still swaggers," reports Lenslinger. The former Davidson County Sheriff and convicted felon is writing a book. "Most likely, the resulting tome will only cement people's deeply-held opinions: dedicated crime-fighter, racist profiler, dangerous megalomaniac, fallen hero. It's all there, brewing on Hege's laptop -- a juicy tell-all destined for the paperback rack and the made-for-TV movie screen. Let's just hope the former sheriff sticks to the facts. After all, his truths have always been stranger than fiction."
