Good News for Red Lake: Preliminary reports on Red Lakes seining show up to 150 young of year walleye per haul. They are up to 2.5 inches long. Lots of young of year yellow perch in the hauls, too. We are uncertain at this time if the walleye are from our stocking or from natural reproduction. We suspect they are from our stocking. Either way is good news for the lake. (Red Lake is closed to all commercial and sport fishing for walleyes due to a walleye population crash from over fishing. The DNR is attempting to rehabilitate the lake)
