We painted the kitchen yesterday.  To help deal with the pain, I went out and bought a bunch of CDs to listen to while working.  I think my favorite was John Dee Graham.  I didn't know what to expect, but I got a whole snoot full of creepy and moving songs.

Southern Rock Opera by the Drive-by Truckers.  About halfway trhough this record, I realized, "Oh my god, these guys are serious".  Ready?  Lynyrd Skynyrd is some kind of religion.  If you have strayed from the path and worshipped false gods and are ashamed of your arena rock past, buy this album and be welcomed back into the fold.  I enjoyed this music and found the record laugh out loud funny at times, but will have to listen a few more times to see if there is anything that speaks to me.

Also bought the Gourds and Ryan Adams and I can't really comment on them right now.  Gotta listen a few more times, I guess.

3M sanding blocks rule!.  These are spongy and flexible so they bend to get into funny spots.  They work great and a double suprise is that you can wash them off and use them again!
What also rules is my old paint brush.  I have been taking such good care of it, washing it with a mild soapy solution after each use and combing its fine bristles.  It has paint splotches on the handle from painting our last house.  It was made in America, God damn it, and it beats the shit out of those $3.00 jobs from Indonesia.
