So Rick, famous wag and gadabout, is on a gondola ride on the St. Croix river with his wife and the driver says, look at that camera, man, we're going to be on the news. That sounds pretty good to Rick and they waved, but it turns out the news crew was exposing a prostitution in Stillwater and they wanted the gondola as a backdrop to the story for some reason.

The neighbors think the morbidly retarted woman (http://radio.weblogs.com/0108008/2002/09/09.html) across the street has finally been removed from the care of her mother, who has Alzheimer's. The mother, Jean, is often seen doing things repeatedly, like 20 times, walking out her door, going back in, walking out again. In the evening, she sits on her front stoop and the sun sometimes hits the tail lights of the cars across the street and she comes over and rings doorbells and tells everyone that their lights are on. Everytime I have a conversation with her and tell her who I am, she says "Old age hasn't crept up on me, it has crapped upon me."

Anyway, a whole bunch of human services types showed up one day and took the daughter off in an institutional looking van.

It has bugged me for a year now that when you hit CTRL-f in textpad, it does "find next" for whatever search term you used last. Meanwhile, every other application on the planet calls up a find dialog box with CTRL-f. To get a find box in textpad, you must hit F5

There is a way to fix this! Configure -> Preferences -> Editor -> Keystroke Compatibility -> Microsoft Applications

Now textpad's keystrokes will behave as expected.
