guitar~
Guitardrag.
That's hard 2 watch...but hm, I would love to hear what it sounds like - assuming it's an electric guitar and it is hooked up to an amp while being dragged around.... [Ottmar Liebert]

SUMMER ARRIVES
Postings have been sparse lately for a couple of reasons. First, I've been fairly busy with free-lance stuff and other projects of late. A lot of this stuff I can't really write about online, since the work's either been done as for-hire on someone else's dime and if you want to read it, you need to read it where I sold it.
I've also had at least one preliminary job interview about which I'm cautiously optimistic, as they say. I'll obviously talk all about it if I get it -- or if I don't -- but I'd rather not jinx things at this point.
I've been doing a lot of photography these days, both for pleasure and otherwise. While walking around taking pictures over the weekend, I snapped a few images of skateboarders at the skate park near Montrose Harbor. Reminded me of when I worked at The Arizona Republic and we'd run the occasional story about how kids would locate a house whose occupants were on vacation, then drain the pool and use it as a skate park.
The other thing I remember about pools and working at Das Republik is that on the layout sheets, there would be warnings when a swimming pool ad was present -- so that we could avoid running drowning stories on those pages.
I wonder: Do Phoenix residents still die like flies in their pools? [HANLONVISION.COM]

Joe Conason's Journal on Salon.com
(Mediaburn Editor) In my mind there is no doubt. Washington has outdone itself when it comes to corruption, cartelization, anti-competitiveness, and un-Americanism. - G.S.
-- As Ratcliffe points out, most of the corporate donors to Texans for a Republican Majority "weren't Texans at all but out-of-state businesses trying to win favor with House Majority Leader Tom DeLay." --
Joe Conason's Journal. For the Republican Party, Tom DeLay's daily venality and sleaze serves a higher purpose. [Salon.com]
