MoveOn.org Internet Primary Results
So how did the candidates do? The statistics below are only a part of the picture: perhaps the most significant fact is that virtually all of the candidates would have the enthusiastic support of a majority of MoveOn members. Taking back the primary process for ordinary people is an important goal, but the vote made clear that we're ready to defeat Bush no matter who the Democratic nominee is.
As a result of the primary, well over 100,000 people have joined a presidential campaign or contributed to one. We're already building a movement to defeat Bush in 2004.

It's been an amazing week for MoveOn.org PAC. Every Democratic presidential campaign has invested time and energy into the primary. The national news media have covered the process with gravity. Together, we've begun to shift the balance in how these choices get made -- from wealthy benefactors and snarky pundits to ordinary, active citizens. Thank you.
Sincerely,
--Carrie, Eli, Joan, Peter, Wes, and Zack

All GOP, All the Time
Interesting words via the "Skeptical Notion" blog about the US moving to a one-party system. I would say, judging by the last 4-5 years, we already have become a one-party system. It's been the story of our lives recently - monopoly, homoginization, assault on plurality and elimination of free competition. Oh yeah, elimination of quality too. - G.S.
One Party Rule. Krugman is good today. A forthcoming article in The Washington Monthly shows that the foundations for one-party rule are being laid right now.In "Welcome to the Machine," Nicholas Confessore draws together stories usually reported in isolation -- from [Skeptical Notion]

Aspen magazine
Aspen. The multimedia magazine in a box. Aspen magazine was published by Phyllis Johnson from 1965 to 1971. Each issue came in a customized box filled with booklets, phonograph recordings, posters, postcards - one issue even included a spool of Super-8 movie film. Artists included JG Ballard, Peter Blake, John Cage, Ira Cohen, Philip Glass, David Hockney, John Lennon, Roy Lichtenstein, Andy Warhol... And here it is reborn as a web version, with the recordings as MP3 files, the movies as Quicktime movies, a full documentary and lots of other stuff. Enjoy. It's ... FAB. [The Cartoonist]
