Dallas' new police chief started work today. Anything has to be an improvement over Bolton, the man fired 10 months ago. Kunkle will have his work cut out to overcome a fake drugs scandal, low morale, bad pay, not to mention one of the highest crime rates in the country. He must really like a challenge to have left the friendly confines of Arlington.

Some days, you feel like writing, others you don't. Lately, it's mostly been the latter. Work has been hot and heavy and I'm ready for a break. Too bad that doesn't look likely before mid-August. Completely behind on reading, house is a wreck, it's summer time in Dallas, and maybe you begin to feel the malaise. Maybe I'll go shopping.
