Opting OutFollowup to previous post.......here's the Federal Trade Commission's site for opting out of telemarketing calls. http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/conline/pubs/alerts/dncalrt.htm 1:00:08 PM ![]()

TelemarketersI don't know about you, but I get more damn telemarketing calls. I know there's somewhere I can opt out - maybe I'll google that now, but in the meantime, I came across this site. Ususally I just politely say "I'm not interested" and hang up. Other times we don't answer the phone if "unknown caller" comes across the caller ID. The most annoying calls are the ones that aren't even human - those pre-recorded messages are the worst. Maybe the next unlucky sap who calls this number will get a dose of their own medicine ::wink:: http://www.xs4all.nl/~egbg/counterscript.html

RecuperationWell, I've just come home from 3 days in the hospital for a bronchial infection (ick!), and I am soooo glad to be out. Doc says stop smoking......yup ok. I did manage to go all three days without a cigarette, but all I could think about was how great it would be when I got out to be able to smoke again. The thing is - I want to want to quit. I WANT to want to quit. Just can't quite get there. You'd think after abstaining for three days, it would be easy. But I couldn't even hold out three hours after I was released. Sux to smoke. Doc says we'll work on using the nicotine patches after I recuperate from this bug. I can't take the Zyban - makes me extremely paranoid. A bad as the addiction is, and as many as I've already given up over the years, I just don't want to let go yet. Foolish, I know.... So I just noticed my weather pixie's choice of clothing today. Temp is 48 degrees and she's baring her cute lil belly? Gimme a break !! It's friggin cold out there girl - get some clothes on!! The kids left for a camping expedition this morning until Sunday. Wow ! We have the entire house to ourselves for four days!!!! Whatever will we do? heheh The trip, of course, did not take off without a hitch. Seems their primary mode of transportation (stepmother's van) lacks an integral component which makes it START, so the "obvious" solution was to ask for MY car. Wellllll, when I didn't jump on the bandwagon and expressed my opposition, the kids thought I was being a bitch. Two grown teenage girls, two boyfriends, four vehicles - and they want MY car to take on a 4-day trip. Now, I've been agreeable to all sorts of reasons for my car to be hijacked for days at a time (trips to Florida, Nashville, etc.) because I'm such a NICE mother. I wasn't so nice last night, and there were some hurt feelings, but by this morning they had packed up in one of their own vehicles and kissed me goodbye. Sux being a mom sometimes...but I believe I did the right thing by sticking to my guns this time. Yea! me! No agenda for the next few days - just taking it easy. I have visions of warm, cozy naps interspersed with a little reading, a little poetry, a little music and more than a little SEX.....
