100 things about me

"A person should hear a little music, read a little poetry, and see a fine picture every day in order that worldly cares may not obliterate the sense of the beautiful that God has implanted in the human soul." - Goethe

Twisted autumn

Wow! Three hours of uninterrupted quality sleep today.  Last couple of nights have been a bitch; up all night with this wicked cough that keeps haunting me.  Got a new inhaler today that looks like a birthcontrol pill pack.  I swear.  Had to read the directions to figure out how to use the stupid thing, and when I tried it out I couldn't tell any difference in my breathing at all.  Another $35 prescription......naturally, there is no generic substitute for it.  Drugs are such a ripoff and my insurance sux.  Had to move to the couch in the middle of the night just so Scott could get some sleep.  Not a great night.   But we did watch a good movie - "Windtalkers".  Nicholas Cage is soooo moody.  The reviews weren't at all flattering, but we both liked it.  I've noticed there seem to be alot of war movies out now.  I really wanted to see "Insomnia" but it wasn't available.  Hopefully we can pick it up tomorrow.

My oldest daughter, Carrie, turned 20 yesterday.  I am getting old.  The good thing is the older they get, the easier they are to buy for.  Since she's living on her own now, and from all indications hungry & penniless, I got her a Walmart gift card.  She can at least buy shampoo or tampons if need be.  Nice birthday card to put it in, too.  Happy birthday Carebear!!  You'll always be my baby.

It's gray outside today.  Cool and breezy, a drizzle here and there.  I've noticed the huge maple tree beside the drive is turning brilliant shades of red and orange.  By next weekend it will be in full color.  I love autumn and the colors she brings.  I adore wearing sweaters and layers, warm jackets and gloves.  It's the time of the year when I can turn off the air conditioning, no need for heat, open the windows and let in the fresh air.  It could stay this way all year as far as I'm concerned.  Some sunshine would be nice though - maybe tomorrow....

My plan to quit smoking did not last more than a couple of hours today.  My twisted logic tells me it would be easier to quit on Monday when I'm at the office.  Is that insanity or what???

Oh, by the way - a site I found a little while ago that's wonderfully unique & lots of fun. Check it out here.
