Thursday musings

I love Ebay!  The old tool chest I talked about the other day sold last night for more than the reserve.  I was really hoping it would bring what I thought it was worth, but I was getting a little antsy yesterday as the auction was winding down.  Bidding was very slow.  Then badabing! a little bidding war in the final few minutes not only reached the reserve, but brought in a little extra :)  Maybe I should have set the reserve higher.  Nahhhh....I'm satisfied - it was a great sale.  Wish I had another one to sale <grin>

Listed a new item last night.  An antique porcelain mustache cup decorated with handpainted flowers and the sentiment "Forget Me Not"...made in Germany.
Wouldn't it make a great man's gift?  Very romantic, I think.  Especially if he's the Sam Elliott type....mmmmm!

In other news from the homefront, the diet is going well.  So far 11 (maybe 12) pounds shed in a 24-day period.  Pretty good, but I think I've reached a plateau.  I'm trying not to worry about it too much and stick with the program, so to speak, but the little dial on the scales hasn't budged more than a pound during the last week.  5 more to go...just 5.  Sounds easy enough, right?  Scott's lost nearly 20 lbs. so far.   I know men lose weight quicker than women, but dammit! it's just not fair!  I miss food.  I miss mashed potatoes.  Macaroni and cheese.  Biscuits.  And Pepsi.  Oh, and chocolate.  And Cheezits.  In a bad way.  Ok.  I will not obsess.  I will not obsess.  I will not obsess.  But I can still dream...
