Corporates! Give your PCs to Africa. Here's why [The Register] This story is appealing for businesses to donate their old PCs to a charity that will wipe em, reload em, and ship em to schools in Africa. But they can only handle it if your business is on the M25 corridor around London. The rest of us will have to think again. New EU waste management legislation will make it illegal to send PCs to the landfill in 2005. At the moment Britains' got a huge fridge mountain because it has no facility for extracting CFCs from them. Are we facing a PC mountain soon?

Wrote a story today about the woes of the Internet - makes you sad - what with all the corporate greed and the lies of the shadowy moneymen the real victims are the people losing their jobs, the people whose savings were swallowed in dot gone investments and, biggest victim of all, the innocence of those of us who hailed the Internet as a brave new world where information could be free and ideas could be shared. But for weblogs it would be RIP.
