This means that only certified programs could be run, and only certified content could be displayed. At the level of bits, censorship and digital-rights management are technologically identical. [Tomalak's Realm] So easy to get distracted by the news. More on the Palladium story - a thought provoking piece that explores a study done by Eric von Hippel at MIT on user innovation. The gist of the story is that if you control after-purchase use of a product, such as a software OS or a music CD, you will stifle innovation.
