Sniper's gun illegal
The New York Times says John Mohammed's acquisition of the gun found in his car had to have been illegal, since he was under a restraining order in Tacoma, Washington at the time. Of course, what we will be hearing next is that we need some more laws to make it harder to obtain a gun illegally. That makes sense... to the Brady bunch maybe.
The article includes a lot about the Bushmaster XM15 rifle and its manufacturer, who is quick to point out that this is not an assault weapon. That is followed immediately by a quote from Kristen Rand at Washington's Violence Policy Center, who said, "Is, too!" Well, her exact words were, "It complies with the letter of the law, but it is still an assault rifle."
