Fat people need to eat less. I noted that if you have the effrontery to say things like this it jacks the comment box on your blog. Like this post on more famous blog. Today the report* is out that 70-80% of obese people who have their stomachs shrunk by stapling actually do eat less and lose weight. As a lifelong skinny guy I know I am not the one to have to break the news, but guess what this proves. "You take in less than you put out - you loose weight." So the question is, should people subject themselves to the cost of a stomach operation when all they need to do is simply develop the willpower to shut their mouths? *we'll overlook the fact that report was paid for by the company that makes the surgery equipment. 10:15:57 PM![]() |
UN Election Monitors The Citizens Committee to Stop the FTAA is getting closer to making some waves on the FTAA and election monitors story. Today's News and Observer covers the new Billy Creech radio ads against Bobby Etheridge in US House District 2. The ads blast Etheridge on having voted to allow funding of UN election monitors for our elections this year. What Mr. Creech's ads don't mention is that Etheridge and the 160 other Democrats who voted with him LOST the vote. BUT, thanks to the BUSH State Department they are on the way anyway. Both the Creech and Etheridge campaigns received letters on the election monitor issue 3 weeks ago from our Citizens committee, so there should be at least a staffer or two in both camps that are not oblivious to what is going on here. Possibly the Creech camp was selective with the information they were provided with and worked it into this new radio spot. However, its hard to believe that they could imagine that the rest of the story regarding the Bush State Department bringing these monitors in would not leak out. 9:02:32 PM![]() |
