Happy Birthday, Dear Blog- Looks like it has been a little over a year that I started this blog. Oct 12th was my Hello World post. Oct 13th was my manifesto. Astronomical Surface Decorations on Ceramics, India part IV A bit more on Indus use of star symbols.  They were often associated with divinity, perhaps showing something as divine.  So, I would suspect that their popular use as decoration on pottery was not cosmological but teleological.  We do see representations of stars and simple reference to their postion(s) used in Indus writing (Pleiades, North Star.)  These could have been done on clay with a seal. (Seals and clay writing are a whole other area of clay-as-information-container.  I explored this a bit almost a year ago.) 10:59:56 PM
