Astronomical Surface Decorations on Ceramics, Mesopotamia, part III

I've found some tantalizing text references:

"a clay"astrolabe" from Assyria is on display in the British Museum in London." Iraq Information Resource Site.

(No luck at the British Museum.)


Some of the oldest astronomical artifacts are astrolabe tablets. These clay tablets consisted of three concentric circles divided by twelve radii into twelve sections. Astronomy in Ancient Mesopotamia by Stacey Abrahms


I did find
an illustration of a cuneiform / clay? star map. Ahmad IRIS references one printed elsewhere in the article Astronomy of Babylon.
