Friday Five — Love
1. How many times have you truly been in love? confidential
2. What was/is so great about the person you love(d) the most? confidential
3. What qualities should a significant other have? Trustworthy, respectful, communication skills, and a shared sense of humor (i.e. you both laugh at the same sort of stuff. )
4. Have you ever broken someone's heart? Not that I know of...
5. If there was one thing you could teach people about love, what would it be? Love feels great but trust and respect are way better for the long haul. (You can tell I'm 50, not 20, can't you!)
Friday Five — Legacy
Better late than never, I guess. Here are last week's five too, which I didn't get around to doing then.
1. What do you most want to be remembered for? As a good friend, a loving mom, and a fun grandma. (Okay, so I'm not a grandma yet but by the time I am, I'll be ready to do the job right!)
2. What quotation best fits your outlook on life? Well, this isn't so much my outlook on life as the reality of my life.
"I long to accomplish a great and noble task, but it is my chief duty to accomplish small tasks as if they were great and noble."
Helen Keller |
3. What single achievement are you most proud of in the past year? My major accomplishment has been keeping up with all my bills in spite of having no regular income. I'm mostly mad as heck about being stuck in my current circumstances, though I guess I am kind of proud of not ending up on the street yet! (censoring bad words about the hurry-up-and-wait appeals process for SSI disability)
4. What about the past ten years? Surviving—and even enjoying!—my son's teenage years. (He's made it to 21 still in one piece!)
5. If you were asked to give a child a single piece of advice to guide them through life, what would you say? Think before you act since once you decide to do something, you'll be living with the consequences.
