Skim Milk Masquerades as Cream

Tonight's Star Trek: Voyager episode, "11:59", has been one of my favorites since it was first broadcast in 1999.

This is a story for all genealogists, even if you think you don't like science fiction. Actually, it's a story you're probably already quite familiar with. In this version, Captain Janeway tells her crewmembers how she was inspired to follow her ancestor's path into space. The family traditions have just enough truth to them that Janeway is able to find out what really happened in Indiana way back in the year 2000, but now she has to reconcile herself to having an ancestor who was just an ordinary person, not a celebrity.

Note 1: For you Emergency! fans: This Trek episode features Kevin Tighe.

Note 2: For the non-G&S people out there who don't get the reference: Things Are Seldom What They Seem
