The Norwegian Forest Cat is strong and independent. She is reserved with newcomers but blossoms in the company of old friends. Confidently defending what is hers, she does not like strangers in her territory. Her luxurious coat is a lot to handle, and necessity dictates regular upkeep. An amazing athlete, the Norwegian Forest Cat thrives on physical activity, and no leap is too great or prey too quick for her to tackle. This huntress is clearly queen of her domain!
(Note #1: This really isn't that much like my personality, but the cat looks like a sweetie, so what the heck!)
(NOTE #2: This quiz does NOT provide results ready to be pasted into your blog. I saved the picture to my own files and put the result into HTML myself.)

Bret's Brother Wins It for the Yankees!
I've been enjoying watching the playoffs with an impartial eye but I'm imagining what a thrill it must have been for Bret Boone to be there to see his brother hit that winning home run. (Next year, Bret, it will be your turn!)

Suggestion
If you're out knocking on doors trying to sell something, come right out and say that you're selling something. This crap about how you're trying to get points to win some contest will guarantee my door slammed in your face. You want a polite response, be up front about why you're here. (Yes, I realize you're travelling around in a van with a group which has been trained to recite a script. This scam has been going on longer than you've been alive and I can't believe that kids still sign up for this "job.")
(P.S. Reeking of cigarettes doesn't win you any points here either.)

Ferry Crash
I've had a couple of jobs which included many happy hours spent riding Washington State Ferries (on the clock, no less!) Around here, from time to time a boat will bump into the dock with minor damage to both the pier and the ferry. It's an annoyance when the boat is out of service for a day or two while repairs are made, but it's only newsworthy in that local commuters need to be notified of schedule changes. So of course my first thought when I saw a headline about the Staten Island Ferry crashing into the dock was, Why am I hearing this clear on the other side of the country? I barely hear about these things locally.
Of course, when I got more details...
Here's what I've found online, not having local tv news for on-the-spot, up-to-the-minute, repetitious reportage.
