In the midst of the ACC/Big East feud, here’s an excellent article in the online edition of the Indianapolis Star by Allen L. Sack, a professor of management and sociology at the University of New Haven, who played on Notre Dame's 1966 national championship football team about how the NCAA long ago abandoned its principles and became nothing more than a trade association for a growing sports entertainment empire, rather than as a guardian of essential amateur and academic values.
