New 802.11b version of Sony's Memory Stick coming this summer that'll let you add WiFi to any Clie handheld.

That is cool, but what I'd like to see is Bluetooth for the wireless slot on the NX and NZ series PDAs. Sony has a Bluetooth Memory Stick that they have released outside the US. It is better than nothing, but the problem is that if you have it in, then you have to take your Memory Stick memory out. I'd prefer to be able to dedicate the wireless slot to wireless of any sort than have to use it for WiFi and the Memory Stick slot for Bluetooth.

Now, Since the "wireless" slot on the NX and NZ models is actually a CompactFlash (CF) slot, another way to get what I want (expanded memory and Bluetooth or WiFi, simultaneously) would be to put memory in the CF slot and use the Bluetooth slot for wireless technology. The problem with that has been that Sony didn't provide drivers for anything other than their WiFi card in that slot. CliéSource tried to change that by offering a reward to anyone writing a standard CF memory card driver for the Cliés. That effort didn't produce anything, but now PDABuzz reports that Soft Pocket Solutions is working on it.

Many posts on the CliéSource CF petition thread also request support for CF I/O devices, such as Bluetooth cards, GPS, etc. I hope Soft Pocket sees an opportunity there, too. I'd certainly buy.

Tom Copeland has written a nice piece on the open source CPD (copy/paste detector). Having tools like this can really help out, and seeing the amount of copy/paste in the JDK source itself is scary. However, what do I *really* want these types of tools to find out... [ONJava.com]

I haven't tried this CPD thing, yet, but it sounds intriguing enough to throw right into the blog. The worst part about copy/paste in my experience is that it is always old code that got written when you didn't know better that gets promulgated.
