Beatboxing...last of the human arts in music.

Learn to Beatbox!

As technology compounds every year to create more and more things we can do with a computer, mix records, create DVDs with content, host entire web communities, there are things that can only be done well by human performers.

Beatboxing is definitely one of them. My roomate, Dave and our friend Jason were talking about beatboxing this past weekend, with Dave not being able to do it well, but Jason being pretty decent at it. It's clear that music, for the most part, can't be immitated well by computer just yet. The degrees of vocal complexity and verisimillitude of the human voice are just inimitable. I don't suspect you'll be able to turn out a recording of, say, the Brahms Requiem, via a dub any time soon.

So, as good as technology is, we still have a way to go before it supercedes human creativity.
