Floods and Rivulets

Tonight, I discovered one of the problems with e-services. Services like Fandango and MovieTickets.com is that they are counting on things going off without a hitch. When a large rainstorm hits your town and the local theatre floods, what next?

We'd planned on heading to the 9:05 show of The Italian Job over at Regal Ballston 12. Tickets were bought, times were checked, and off we went. We got there just a bit early, and discovered the whole theatre was closed. No show. So, we asked for our money back, as I'd bought the tickets online. They couldn't do it. Best they could do was a set of passes for the future.

So much for online services.

But Tiff and I have been watching the Animatrix, which has been more than a little surreal. The Second Rennaisance is the stuff of nightmares.

Saturday Adventures

Today has been rainy and dim so far, not the pleasant Saturday that one would expect, but this has not stopped Tiffany and I from doing some fun stuff. We went to the Farmer's Market at Courthouse, bought some Mozzarella (fresh and local) as well as some herbs that, if the weather provides, will go into my planter boxes tomorrow. Picked up a pair of basil plants, an oregano and a cilantro. I'm excited at trying my green thumb on the new garden here.

After that, some breakfast was had, and some Food Network was watched. There is so much to do when you move. A kitchen to reorganize, a dresser to repack, books to reshelve, a living room to assemble. It's so much work, that sometimes you begin to wonder whether or not it's worth it. But things are beginning to shape up, and more boxes are being emptied. Ben stopped by to say hello, and bring by his friend Elisha and some Krispy Kremes.

I think we're going to restart Sunday Supper Club next week on the back porch. Fire up that grill, do some chicken and a salad, perhaps. Not quite sure yet. I have enough silver to host, but certainly not anything but paper plates, I'm afraid. Should be good!
