Foreign Aid US style.
9:29:48 PM

"The higher politicians climb the pole of ambition the more of their asses we can see."
AmericanRepertoryTheatre: "A fabulously funny performer/satirist, Pieter-Dirk Uys's many incarnations include Nelson Mandela, P.W. Botha, and his most outrageous creation - the glamorous Evita Bezuidenhout, 'the most famous white woman in South Africa'. His new performance piece, Foreign Aids, shatters the deadly official silence that still hangs over the South African AIDS crisis and will take on American politics on the eve of the upcoming inauguration. Recently profiled in the New Yorker, Uys creates a chorus line of monsters, masters and madams, using humor to puncture state hypocrisy and speak truth to power."
3:50:07 PM

"The War Resisters Support Campaign, a broad-based coalition of community organizations, has launched a petition aimed at Canada's federal government to allow US war resisters who refuse to fight in Iraq to have refuge in Canada."

A picture named Haggis.jpg The Haggis Hunt is on. "The 2004-2005 haggis hunting season has begun. Now the season has started, you do not need to go out onto the hills, nor do you have to harm one of these rare creatures (haggishunt.com is totally environmentally friendly). You can hunt the haggis from the comfort of your computer."
You may already know about the 'haggis hunt' of Bertie Wooster. In Right Ho, Jeeves by P.G. Wodehouse, Bertie is chased by Tuppy, who is Scottish, for asking him 'What exactly is it that they put into haggis?'. But that is not the hunt we have in mind here (you can find more on haggis and Wodehouse on this link, though).
