"'In a village of La Mancha the name of which I have no desire to recall ...' has challenged Cervantes scholars for centuries. Various small towns south of Madrid on the rolling plains of La Mancha have been named in the past as Don Quixote's home village.
But detective work by a team led by Francisco Parra Luna has now found that all clues lead to Villanueva de los Infantes, a small town with a population of 5,800, some 144 miles south of Madrid."
