CapitolHillBlue: "A growing number of Republican leaders, party strategists and political professional now privately tell President George W. Bush that his presidency 'is effectively over' unless he fires embattled White House advisor Karl Rove, apologizes to the American people for misleading the country into war and revamps his administration from top to bottom."

AmericaBlog: "If Libby or anybody else is pardoned, that is the end of this presidency. Though Bush may do as daddy did, pardon all the traitors on his last day.
So if Libby can take the heat for a time, he and his former boss (and friend) may get through this. But should Republicans lose control of the Senate (where they are blocking all oversight of this administration), I predict Cheney will resign 'for health reasons'."

FindLaw: "... the person who should be tossing and turning at night, in anticipation of the last act, is the Vice President of the United States, Richard B. Cheney."

A new book has been published: In the Name of Democracy: American War Crimes in Iraq and Beyond.
CountyTimes: "The editors carefully build their case for concluding that the U.S. could be charged with committing war crimes, laying fact upon fact to build a pyramid of evidence. They start by tracing the growing global consensus about what is and is not acceptable in warfare. War crimes, they report, are defined as actions 'so heinous they are offenses not just against their immediate victims, but against all humanity'. The worst international crime, differing from other war crimes in that it contains within itself the accumulated evil of the whole', is to initiate a war of aggression, according to the Nuremberg Tribunal convened after World War II."
